Massachusetts State Police Car Crashes
A recent article in the October 5, 2014 Boston Globe confirmed that there are approximately 400 automobile accidents per year in Massachusetts involving State Police vehicles. Often, a person injured by the State Police feels intimidated in pursuing their claim for personal injuries against the State Police because of feeling intimidated in doing so. I have obtained a Superior Court verdict for a Boston School teacher whose vehicle was struck by a State Police vehicle on the first day of school. The teacher suffered spondylolisthesis, a condition in which one bone in your back (vertebra) slides forward over the bone below it causing pain. However, there was less than $200.00 in damage to her vehicle. The State Police refused to settle the claim fairly and I was able to obtain a verdict of $330,000.00 for the teacher.
Often, cases that seem insurmountable still may be viable. It is important to discuss a possible claim with an attorney to determine whether compensation is possible.
